Dutch illustrator Peter Spier opens a door into the world of Noah’s life on the ark and allows the reader to become the third fly on the wall. Spier entertains us with colorful depictions of Noah’s potential challenges. Extra birds and bees. Mrs. Noah’s fear of mice. Owls keeping everyone up at night. A creative peek into the life of this Bible favorite will take the imagination into new dimensions. I loved the giraffe’s attempt to eat the olive branch as well as the herd of rabbits that eventually exit the ark. I wondered: Did dolphins swam alongside the ark and how did the ladies cook on board? Which animals were Noah’s favorites? Did the snakes give him the willies? What thoughts did you have while reading this book?
