Gayle’s Gable

Barbara Robinson’s Best Christmas Pageant Ever holds a top spot on my list of best holiday reads. Hilarity ensues when the six, out-of-control Herdman kids show up for Sunday School and decide to join the church’s annual Christmas pageant. Since all of the other kids are scared to death of the Herdmans, the Herdman family quickly snags all of the main parts. But wait! The Herdmans have never heard the Christmas story. For those of us raised in church, this little gem of a book will tweak your perspective on the ancient story of Christ. I dare you to read it without Kleenex, because:

“Hey! Unto you a child is born!”

Unto you and you and you and me. Thank God and Merry Christmas.
