Frank Peretti is a master storyteller and in his Cooper Kids Adventure Series, Dr. Jake Cooper, a biblical archeologist, and his two children, Jay, 14, and Lila, 13, solve mysteries Indiana Jones-style. Action is fast-paced and the Coopers’ faith keeps them strong and steady in the midst of terror and chaos. Peretti draws from various characters, places, and principles in Scripture which provide unusual settings and storylines. Book One is a little intense, but don’t stop just because the first one seems a little scary. The whole series reads well. Parents, you’ll enjoy his adult works, too.
